Agony of Waiting

A moment of prayer...

“A moment of prayer..." posts allow you to borrow a prayer when you have no words of your own.

(Halee Wood journals many of her prayers. Originally prayed on 8/21/14 while waiting ~1.5 years for her adoptive son to be moved from the foster care system to their family home.)

Praise be to Your name, O Lord! I'll praise you in the morning and in the evening, when I'm young and when I'm old. May my mouth never cease to give You praise.

Lord, I do not feel Your presence. What walls have I created? I'm crying out for Your presence. Please do not leave me as I can do NOTHING without You... though I'm just realizing I've been trying to do everything without You. Please forgive me, Father. Teach me how to hear You and know You. Oh my heart aches.

There are so many things beyond all I can imagine right now. Give me insight into Your timing, and PLEASE give me patience for the time between now and then. I so long for accurate information. Waiting is sheer agony on somedays... there are so many unknowns and things outside of my control. It feels like this is never going to end.

Help me to praise You in the midst of the waiting...

...

...

Lord, I thank You for this sweet time of waiting. Do with me what You will during this time.

Amen.
